Obituary for Arthur William Hultgren

HULTGREN, ARTHUR W.
Age 94 of Maple Grove. Preceded in death by wife, LaVonne; parents: Arthur & Hannah; siblings: Henrietta Dech, Audrey Adams & Robert Hultgren. Survived by children: Arthur William Hultgren Jr. (Mary), Richard Charles Hultgren (Martha) & Patricia Lee Schwalbe (Charles); grandchildren: Melissa Engel (Matthew), Joshua (Rebekah), Kristina, Matthew, Paul, Nathan & Anna Hultgren; Samuel & Chloe Schwalbe; 6 great-grandchildren; other relatives & friends.

Arthur served as Crew Chief in the US Air Force for Squadron #346 during the North African Campaign and was a bronze star recipient. He owned his own home building business. At age 49 he went to work for the Dept. of Housing and Urban Development for the US government and retired at age 68. He worked as an independent inspector and retired at age 86. Art assisted on the planning committee for the City of Maple Grove and enjoyed spending time at the cabin, however, his greatest joy was his family. Art & LaVonne were married for almost 63 years. Their social life was comprised of volunteering and attending all their children and grand children's activities. Funeral service at NEW LIFE COMMUNITY CHURCH (6900 W. Fish Lake Rd.) Thursday, May 28th, 2015 at 11 AM with visitation one hour prior. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials preferred to the church.
