Obituary for James A. Dewall

James A. Dewall, 68, of Maple Grove, MN passed away on Tuesday, February 23rd surrounded by his family. Jim was born on May 20, 1947 to John and Eleanor Dewall in St. Paul, MN. He served in the military where he was stationed in Okinawa, Japan and graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1975 with a degree in Business.

Jim worked in the hospitality business for many years, starting at the Carlson Companies, where he worked his way up to Chief Financial Officer. He then worked at the Northland Inn Resort and Conference Center in Brooklyn Park as the Controller. Jim also worked at the Resort at Squaw Creek in Squaw Valley, CA, where he served as the CFO. His final employment was at NCS Pearson. Jim was extremely devoted to his work, always performing above and beyond what was expected of him. He had a deep passion for sports and a love for all Minnesota sports teams. Jim was an avid golfer and would spend as much of his free time as he could on a golf course. He also loved reading and had quite the collection of spy novels and World War II history books. Jim's pride and joy were his three children, and he loved spending his last years playing with his grandchildren.

Jim is preceded in death by his mother Eleanor, his father John, his sister Jean, and his brother Rich. Jim is survived by his wife Linda; son Jeff; son Steve and daughter-in-law Wendy; daughter Jenny and son-in-law Victor; and eight beloved grandchildren Alana, Madison, Ella, Parker, Sophia, Emily, Giselle and Mila. He also leaves behind his sister Becky and countless dear friends and family.

A celebration of Jim's life will be held at Kozlak-Radulovich Maple Grove Chapel (13745 Reimer Dr.) Saturday, February 27th, 2016 at 2 PM with visitation one hour prior. All are encouraged to wear their favorite MN team attire.
