She is survived by her sons, Jimmy (Gayle) and Robert; daughters, Jody Carlson (Craig Wright), Judy Pries (Doug), and Mary Huss; “favorite” daughters/sons-in-law, Teresa Huss Ebert (Larry) and Wanda Reller (Scott); proud grandmother of Brian Huss (Cara), Michelle Dumonceaux (Darwin), Jennifer Hammerstrom (Garrett), Nathan Huss (Ali), Sarah Seim (Carl), Troy Huss (Jessica Furman), Travis Huss, Jennifer Carlson (Brian Durbin), Emily Carlson, and Joe Pries; 8 precious great-grandchildren, Carter & Maggie Dumonceaux, Isabella & Ben Huss, Stella & Roland Huss, Lydia Huss, and Cody Seim; step grandmother to Chad Ebert, Andrea Ebert, Eric (Vanessa) Ebert, Ryan (Ginene) Ebert, Emily and Libby Reller; step great grandmother to Landon Ebert, Lilian and Elaine Ebert, Charlize and Brigham Ebert, Lukas Lossing, and many nieces, nephews and friends. Ruthe was a lifetime, involved member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Kaniewski Loss and Holy Cross’ Mothers’ Club. As a young woman, she sent care packages to many Vets during WWII and then continued many of those lifetime friendships. She was a 29-year Birthright volunteer and for over 10 years anonymously made treat bags for the seniors at River Village at St. Hedwig’s. For decades she sewed naugahyde carry- all bags as gifts for family, friends and the elderly. She sewed free for one year for a Vietnam Veteran who was starting his own upholstery business after having already sewed a full day herself and then going home to take care of her family. She led a life of giving freely of her time and her talent to help others. She retired after 37 years sewing upholstery only to retire again permanently after several years of hand sewing and inspecting heart valves. To those staff members of Park River Estates Care Center who always treated our Mother with dignity, kindness, and compassion (you know who you are), our family thanks you. Mass of Christian Burial at CHURCH OF THE HOLY CROSS (17th Ave. NE & University Ave.) at 10 AM on Saturday, April 22, 2017 with visitation on hour prior. Private Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials preferred to Happy Tails Rescue, Fridley, MN.
