Obituary for Joseph John Koteles

KOTELES
Joseph John (Joe) – Age 88, of Columbia Heights, MN, went home to his Heavenly Father, May 12, 2017. Dad was born and raised in Muskegon Heights, Michigan. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and was a member of the Minnesota Korean War Veterans. He and Mom loved visiting the veterans at the VA Hospital. Dad was a proud graduate of Michigan Technological University. An avid bowler and pianist, he also loved classical music, and was a talented artist. Most of all, Dad was a proud Husband, Father and Grandfather. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Connie, parents, Julia and Frank and sister, Julia. Survived by children: Tim (Patty), Tom (Shelly), Suzanne (Stan) Wiatros, Angela (Jim) McShane, and Katherine (Jon Imsland) Koteles: grandchildren: Chris (Bri), Joe, Timothy, Martin, David, Robert and Angelika. Brother Frank (Eleanor) Koteles and sister-in-law Patricia Smith, along with nieces, nephew and friends. Mass of Christian burial Wednesday at CHURCH OF ST. HEDWIG (129 - 29th Ave. NE) at 10 AM with visitation one hour prior to Mass. Visitation Tuesday at KOZLAK-RADULOVICH CHAPEL (1918 University Ave. NE) 5 to 8 PM with a Rosary Service at 6:30 PM followed by a Korean War Veteran’s Ritual. Interment at Fort Snelling. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Minnesota Korean War Veterans Chapter 1, c/o Ed Valle, 1410 Foster Street, River Falls, WI 54022 or St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church.
