Obituary for Lavonne Adeline Ramsay
RAMSAY, LAVONNE ADELINE
Age 84 of Blaine, MN, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on August 21, 2017. Survived by children Beth Ramsay Schalk (Scot) & David Ramsay; siblings Jacqueline Kuhns (Ken) & John Hanson; eleven nieces & nephews, 21 grand nieces & nephews and many friends. Preceded in death by daughter Karen Ramsay Smiley; parents John & Adeline Hanson; sister Janice Henke; great nieces Ana Plante & Anika Taylor. Lavonne graduated from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa and went on to spend 37 years as a teacher of English and Music, the majority of her career in District 11. Lavonne was an exceptionally accomplished pianist and was also gifted in playing the organ, clarinet & singing. She played in the Luther College Concert Band and sang in the Luther College Concert Choir, also singing in church choirs and playing the organ in several churches. Lavonne also loved playing card games with friends and family, and was particularly proficient in Bridge. Lavonne was loved by all who knew her.
