Obituary for Oksana Ludmilla Billy (Lewytzkyj)

OKSANA LUDMILLA BILLY (Lewytzkyj) was the third of four children born to Very Rev. Dr. Wolodymyr and Halyna Lewytzkyj.

Oksana had a deep attraction to, and love of angels, as evidenced by many angel figurines throughout her home. She moved with an inner grace stemming from her deep faith, her caring and loving nature which suggests an earth angel was in our midst.

Raised in a loving and religious Ukrainian Orthodox family, throughout her lifetime, Oksana always put the needs of others before her own, she strived to be of service to her community, her church, her friends and, most importantly, to her beloved family. Her deep belief in, and love of, God provided her with a spiritual depth and incredible inner strength to conquer life’s challenges.

Throughout her lifetime, Oksana was active in the cultural life of Ukrainian and American communities. Her talents were many. Musically talented, she often entertained others with flute and piano recitals. Her angelic voice beautified several church choirs, the Ukrainian woman’s vocal l ensemble “Yevshan Zillia”, Ukrainian choir “Dnipro”, the Wayzata Women’s choir and others. She was an energetic, passionate dancer and member of several Ukrainian folk ballet groups.

Good health was a lifelong goal and she was an exceptional aerobics instructor at Lifetime Fitness -- who worked her students (gently) hard . She loved working at Wayzata Community Church because there she felt the love, warmth and family like aura from the clergy, staff and members.

An avid gardener, she was always planting and replanting to make her garden increasingly more beautiful. As for a love of plants, the jungle growing in the house says it all.

The parental love, patience, values and guidance provided by Oksana’s parents provided the stepping stones to her future which she then strived to hand down to her children with the hopes that they, too, will hand them down to their children.
