Obituary for Eugene Willard Peterson

PETERSON
Gene, age 75, of East Bethel. He was a long-time farmer, jokester and chatterbox. Gene passed away November 28th, 2017. He is survived by his wife: Deloris (Senger) Peterson, children: Susan (Mark) Ackerman and Shelly (Sam) Foster, grandchildren: Haley, Kyley, Blake, Caitlin and Courtney, siblings: Dennis (Grace) Peterson and Deloris (Peterson) Shimer.

Gene was born in Minneapolis on August 27th, 1942 to Harriett (Titterud) and Chester Peterson. He was raised in ham Lake and graduated from Anoka High School. He worked as a farmer and for the past two years he liked to say that he day-lighted as a semi-professional cribbage player. On September 7th, 1963, he married Deloris, the woman he has been in love with since he was 16 years old. On August 17th, 1964 and October 3rd, 1966, he welcomed his two beautiful daughters, who were the second most important part of his life (his grandchildren took the lead in 1995).

Gene was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed playing cribbage with his friends, putting a smile on his loved one's faces with his non-stop jokes, and bragging about his grandchildren to anyone who would lend him their ears. He will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched.
