Condolence From: Barbara Sotanski
Condolence: I am so sad to hear that a bright light has gone from the world with Kay's passing. I haven't seen any of the family since the 70's, I guess, but I remember Kay's warmth, kindness and infectious laugh most of all. I remember a story she told me when I was visiting (or being babysat?) and I can still see her face and hear her laugh as I think of it. She was at home, but had momentarily lost track of either Dan or Ben, who was probably a toddler at the time. Then she heard the toilet flush. As she went in to see what was up, she got there just in time to hear Dan/Ben say "There them go!". I can't remember exactly what got flushed, I'm thinking it was goldfish, but it could have been plastic toys. She wasn't mad! She thought it was the funniest thing and followed that up with that beautiful full laugh. I remember thinking, WOW!, I wish I had HER as a mom! Wish I could have been at her service to say goodbye and see you all again. My sister Pat forwarded the news to me, but I was not able to make the trek up from IL in time. I'm glad to have the fond memories that made me smile this week, in spite of the sad news that brought the memories forward. She'll remain a bright light for me. Take good care, Barb

Condolence: Very sorry and sad to hear about Kay. She was always nice and respectful to me. It was a good feeling helping Kay & Francis with the garden, shed, and dogs. She will be missed and you have my condolences.
