Obituary for Robert James VanKrevelen

VANKREVELEN
Robert James “Bob”, Age 66, of Aitkin, MN, died on June 2nd, 2015.
Born in Minneapolis on April 26, 1949 to John and Helen VanKrevelen, he attended West High School with his beloved brothers Fred, Jerry and Jack. Shortly after graduation Bob married his high school sweetheart, Kathy Bliss.
He worked at Metal–Matic Inc, Minneapolis. Under his leadership, the company saw substantial growth. Authoritative and strategic, he was proud of the business’s success, but prouder still of the friendships forged. These relationships lasted his lifetime.
Bob and Kathy had four children; Bobby, Jay, Katie and Missy. Family was their greatest joy, and this joy multiplied as the family expanded. Their official clan includes Robert Jr., (Andra) John (Rochelle), Katherine Adolfson (Matthew), Melissa Bottineau (Joseph) and grandchildren John, Macey, Brian, Rebecca, Bridgette, Jack and Brock, his brother Fred (Diane) , and sister Julie Loftus (Brian)
Bob lived and loved life. With family as his focus, everything else just fell into place. He loved to travel, taking in the world by air, by land and by sea. Whether he was fishing in the blue waters of Mexico, flying over the fields of Aitkin, or driving his old Dodge to the Pine Inn for happy hour (If you were lucky enough to be sitting next to him you my have overheard him say “one more and throw me out”). He did it all with a smile on his face and Kathy at his side. Nothing brought him more happiness than the whole family together, sitting around the table talking and telling stories. He was a Husband; Father; Grandfather; Brother. A good friend. He will be missed by all.
Proceeded in death by his father and mother, John and Helen,
Brothers, John and Jerome his father-in-law Gerald Bliss and his niece Kristen VanKrevelen. Oh, and of course: Buster, “the Wonder Dog.”
Bob, your stories and wisdom will thrive through your family and friends. We were blessed to have had the opportunity to know you, to grow up with you, and to learn from you. We will miss you!
