Brya, Helen K.

Age, 95, of NE Minneapolis, died Thursday, September 15, 2016. Helen and her family were longtime members of Holy Cross Church in NE Minneapolis. Her later years were spent attending services at St. Anthony of Padua Chapel. Helen enjoyed traveling, casinoing, sharing good meals - especially dessert and coffee - with family and friends, and attending Mass at her church. Helen was a devoted wife, loving daughter and much beloved cousin and friend. She was gracious and kind to all who were blessed to spend time with her. Helen is survived by her special cousin Florence Ebner; god-daughter, Kim Steppe; “adopted” son, Bruce Steppe; cousin Raymond (Betty) Matuzek; and other cousins. At last, Helen is joining her beloved husband, Ray.

Helen’s family would like to heartfully thank all of the staff and caregivers at Catholic Eldercare and HealthPartners Hospice. With their gentle and kind assistance Helen’s last years were filled with grace and dignity. Mass of Christian Burial at CHURCH OF THE HOLY CROSS (17th Ave NE & University Ave.) Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 10 AM with visitation beginning at 9:30 AM. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please direct memorials to St. Anthony of Padua Chapel.
