Obituary for Margery Mae Banken (Muehlbauer)

Margery Banken, 87, died peacefully Saturday, November 5, 2016 with family by her side. Born in Clontarf, MN on September 26, 1929, Margery was the daughter of Robert and Marie Muehlbauer, married Paul W Banken on February 10, 1947. Together they raised ten children in rural MN. As a mother, Margery was gentle, loving and always put her children first. She attended school events and participated in many parent functions in support of her children. And in later years, she granted that same love and gentleness to her 60 grand (and great grand) children. Margery was a member of the Women’s VFW Auxiliary serving at Veterans functions. Her Catholic faith was the cornerstone of her life and brought her comfort in her later years. Margery is survived by her ten children, their spouses and family. Surviving sons include Paul Banken Jr., Michael Banken and Dale Banken; daughters, Joanne Dorweiler, Patricia Camp, Doris Banken, Charlotte Paske, Anna Jensen, Margaret Banken and Mary Ann Kortlever. She is also survived by five siblings and her loving companion Gerald Moe. Margery was preceded in death by her devoted and loving husband Paul Banken Sr., her parents, Robert and Marie Muehlbauer, three sons in law and seven of her siblings. The family would also like to express their gratitude to Hill Top Care Center in Watkins, MN and Heartland Hospice Care of St. Cloud, MN who helped care for Margery in her final years. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 11, 2016, 10:30 AM at KOZLAK-RADULOVICH MAPLE GROVE CHAPEL (13745 Reimer Dr) with visitation one hour prior. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials may be made in her memory to St Anthony’s Catholic Church in Watkins, MN.
