Obituary for Michael Peter Joseph
Joseph, Michael P.
Age 93, passed away January 8th, 2017. Preceded in death by brother Philip and sisters, Harriet McDonald and Louise Hannah. Beloved foster father of Jose Vilchis and dear brother of Lenore Mastin and Alice Szymanski. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and dear friends. Michael was a man of great intellect and faith who lived a full and happy life. As a young man, he served as a Christian Brother, eventually earning a Master’s degree and teaching at numerous high schools and colleges. He later earned a Ph.D. in Psychology. His many professional roles included St. Mary's College and University of Minnesota professor, Counselor, founding principal of the Minneapolis Work Opportunity Center, principal of Washburn & Marshall University High Schools, and Director of Research for Minneapolis Public Schools. He was an active member of the National Apostolate of Maronites for many years.Liturgy of Resurrection at ST. MARON MARONITE CATHOLIC CHURCH (602 University Ave. NE, Mpls.) Thursday at 11 AM with visitation one hour prior. Private interment St. Mary’s Cemetery. Memorials preferred to the church.
