BRUGGENTHIES, JOAN

Age 82 of Blaine, passed away on May 24, 2017. Joan was born in Sauk Centre, MN where she graduated in 1954. She and her husband Roman moved to Spring Lake Park in the late 50’s where they raised their family. Known as “Mrs. B”, Joan spent 25+ years with the Spring Lake Park School District #16 working as a life guard, swimming instructor, and eventually becoming the Assistant Pool Director. They retired to Grey Eagle on Little Birch Lake where they built a home and lived for 20 years. After Roman's death, Joan moved to Blaine to be near her family. Joan is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Roman; parents, John & Anna Loehlein; siblings, Albert Loehlein, Veronica Anderson, Bernadine Gillies, Jerome Loehlein & Edward Loehlein. Survived by children, Deborah (Ron) Favaloro, Carla (Rod) Bustrom, Bradley (Dianne) Bruggenthies & Adam Bruggenthies (partner Steve Schmitt); grandchildren, Angela Favaloro, Tony (Shelby) Favaloro, Nick Bustrom, Kyle (Niky) Bruggenthies, Kevin Bruggenthies; great-granddaughter, Jozie; siblings, Ositha Rupert, Magdeline Steller, Eleanor Holesovsky, Luella Dols; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Funeral service at Spirit of Christ Lutheran Church (2749 Bunker Lake Blvd.) Saturday, June 3rd at 11 AM with visitation one hour prior. Interment Morningside Cemetery. Arrangements with Kozlak-Radulovich Blaine Chapel, 763-783-1100.
