Obituary for Garland Lowell Francis

The Francis, Garrison & Tolbert families regret to announce the sudden, untimely and unpredictable death of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, cousin and loving friend, Garland Lowell Francis, Sr. This sad event occurred on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at 2:20 PM at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids, MN surrounded by his wife, children, brother, and sisters. Garland was a very loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He leaves to mourn his loving wife, Augusta Tolbert Francis; children, Garland L. Francis, Jr. (Michelle), Derek Francis (Chrissy), Wesley and Ashley Francis; two grandchildren, Vanessa and Maliyah; his brother Melvin Francis Sr.; two sisters, Patricia Francis Nicholas and Velma Francis Scurlock, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Garland was predeceased by his father Melvin Francis, Sr.; mother Lucille Garrison Francis and uncle Russell Garrison. Visitation at SANCTUARY COVENANT CHURCH (2018 Aldrich Ave. N., Mpls.) Friday, Jan. 5th from 6-9 PM. Please note all tributes will be made at the wake and are limited to 2 minutes. Funeral service Saturday, Jan. 6th at 9:30 AM also at the church. Interment Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
