The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Richard Banasikowski can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Kind and Compassionate

...two words that describe your dad as I am sure you are well aware.  I concur with Ellen that when you girls were born, you lit up his world.  Julia when you were sick he was heartsick until you were well again.  We all shared in his pain because we loved him and knew how much he adored you.  Monica, he was so very proud of your swimming and the accomplishments you made. I met your dad in NYC for the very first time at the anniversary for Open Door because your dad and I came on board with Open Door at the very same time.  Your dad was one of the kindest men I have ever known, always calm and in control even when work became very stressful, which it often did. Julia I am sure you are aware of that since you worked for Nacel for awhile.  Julia, when you entered college your dad was so very proud of you for the wonderfully smart young lady you had become. He beamed when he spoke of you girls. You and your mom were his entire life.  And Ewa, last but not least, my heart goes out to you in losing your life partner way too soon.  You probably don't remember me but we met when you brought Julia to the Hempstead Best Western when we were doing orientation. I will never forget how beautifully Julia was dressed with her little headband that matched her dress. There are no words to express the sorrow that I feel.  The world has lost a giant among men because of Rich's  kind compassionate soul.
