Obituary for Richard James Schwab (Schwab)

Richard “Rick” James Schwab Jr., died surrounded by his loving family on Monday, October 2, 2017 following a three year battle with cancer. He was married to his high school sweetheart, Laura for 42 years and together raised two devoted sons, Derek & Aaron. Rick worked for the Star Tribune for 40 years as a master electrician. He was dedicated to his family, had a zest for life and above all, made a lasting impression on everyone he met. Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Richard & Caroline Schwab. He is survived by his wife, Laura; two sons, Derek & Aaron (Fiancée Kirstyn Olson); sister, Marge Schwab (John Christensen); Laura’s parents, Roger & Marlene Pyle; sister-in-law & brother-in-law, Renae & Bill Kabes niece, Ashly (Kyle) Spitzer; nephews, Brandon & Tyler Kabes, along with many cherished relatives & friends. Memorial service at KOZLAK-RADULOVICH MAPLE GROVE CHAPEL (13745 Reimer Dr.) Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 12 Noon with visitation one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to North Memorial Hospice (3500 France Ave. N., Suite #101, Robbinsdale, MN 55422).
